About Sober Companion AZ
Our sober companion business is different than other companions businesses—we work with regular, everyday people with addiction. Other companion businesses deal with celebrities, athletes and musicians. We are a local company with team members who are in recovery and live a recovery lifestyle. They attend team building, effective communication and community lifestyle support business meetings regularly. We believe that our clients can not be healthy if our team is not healthy. The business is based on healthy employees living life on life’s terms so that the clients can do the same. The team is good at what they do because they have done the work themselves. They have learned the art of transparency in recovery so that the clients can learn the art and begin living a new way of life. The cost is comparable to traditional treatment, but the treatment is done in their own life environment.
The industry standard is to take a sick, addicted individual and put them in treatment. They have the opportunity to keep them safe (away from using), teach them about recovery (take them to 12 step meetings), and educate them through group and individual therapy sessions. Clients often stay clean and sober through this 90 day process. Then, you help them prepare to leave by putting an aftercare discharge plan on paper and send them off. They return to their normal life. They know how to stay clean and sober through knowledge alone and in a protected environment, but they lack the experience of actually doing it. Now they have the opportunity to learn by doing it and creating new memories from actually living a new way. With traditional treatment, relapse rates are high. Most can not make the transition from treatment to a clean outside life. When a relapse occurs overdose rates are high because their tolerance has changed but their desires are the same. Returning to treatment and/or meetings becomes a challenge because of shame and ego. Our program teaches them to live clean and sober one day at a time by actually living clean and sober one day at a time.
Learning to get clean and sober with a sober companion is different because the professional comes into their life. They show them how to clean up their living environment so that muscle memories and home triggers get eliminated. They teach them to cook nutritious meals and to eat and nourish their bodies consistently. They learn about the importance of sleep and hygiene. They are shown how to keep their physical bodies healthy through regular exercise. They are taught daily scheduled routine. We show them life style changes by purging their phones and social media accounts, TV watching etc. We show them how to embrace a spiritual life right in their own home by teaching them how to meditate and pray to a power greater than themselves, ritually. They interact with their families and loved ones with accountability and healthy communication allowing the family to grow along with them. They are taken to 12 step meetings daily and learn how to integrate recovery into their life. Pride and gratitude become natural. They are taken to outpatient treatment where they receive individual therapy, group therapy, equine therapy, family and relationship therapy. The program offers body work healing including craniosacral, acupuncture and vitamin therapy. They meet with physicians and psychiatrists, regularly, who assist with their physical and mental health. They learn to live a life of recovery through hands-on training from strong individuals who are in recovery. They learn about relapse prevention through daily living recovery retention. We teach them how to have fun, play and restore them to a life of passion, natural highs and contentment. They begin to shift their old, using lifestyle into a recovery based way of life. They are shown and taught physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health integrated with recovery through a daily lifestyle.
Our customers are those that have tried traditional treatments without success and those looking to get clean and sober for the first time. We believe that not all who need to get clean and sober are necessarily thinking that they have to stay that way but know that their life is not functional the way that they are currently living. They may have legal issues and employment issues. They may have destroyed all family and friend relationships. We assist and guide them through these allowing them to see that a life of recovery doesn’t mean giving up, but surrendering to a new way to live life.
Our program starts off intense and with constant companionship. We walk with them through all the changes exhibiting how to make many small changes until they become desired habits. Our step down procedures are tailored to them. With some clients the program will be 30 to 90 days of intensive companionship followed by a 3 month step down period and completed with a 6 month aftercare protocol. When they are living a fully sustainable recovery lifestyle, they join the lifetime alumni.
There are many aspects of our program that will take insurance and are billable. The companionship part of the program is cash only. We are challenging insurance companies and believe that when they see the success rates of our program they will soon be covering the companionship. Prices vary depending on each client. Our rates are $40 hourly for companionship during waking hours and $30 hourly for sleeping hours. All programs are tailored individually. Programming and companionship begins with half down paid in full and incremental payments are made when funds reach $5000. There are no refunds. Our average fees are $40,000 for 6 month recovery lifestyle training program. We have a 100% success rate at this time and it is our goal to keep it there. Our clients recovery reflects our recovery.
